Lorri Lomnitzer is an associate with Assouline & Berlowe and emphasizes her practice in intellectual property and commercial litigation. Prior to becoming an attorney at Assouline & Berlowe, Ms. Lomnitzer was Director of Operations at an independent record label where she handled all aspects of the music business, including distribution, production, and licensing. At the record label, Ms. Lomnitzer negotiated and prepared publishing and recording artists’ contracts, with a focus on copyright and royalty issues. Ms. Lomnitzer traveled annually to MIDEM in Cannes, France for the international music convention. Ms. Lomnitzer is experienced with negotiating content licensing contracts and track purchase agreements for CD compilations. Ms. Lomnitzer’s in-depth knowledge of the music industry coupled with her Intellectual Property Law training allows for an insightful perspective into copyright and trademark protection and enforcement.
Ms. Lomnitzer received her undergraduate degree from University of California Los Angeles, CA (UCLA) in Economics and obtained her law degree and certificate of concentration in Intellectual Property Law from Whittier Law School in California. While in California Ms. Lomnitzer worked at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office-High Tech Crimes Unit where she handled high technology and intellectual property cases such as unauthorized CD and DVD duplication, trademark violations, e-bay fraud, identity theft and high profile trade secret crimes.
