COVID-19: What We're Doing to Protect Our Clients

Boca Raton Labor and Employment

Many labor & employment issues are unique to the Boca Raton area. While we still see the typical Fair Labor Standards Act, Family & Medical Leave Act, whistleblower, discrimination, retaliation and harassment cases, a good deal of work in the Boca Raton area concerns the enforcement of non-compete agreements and protection of trade secrets. We are able to both prosecute and defend these claims in state and federal court.

We also see a number of employers who, when terminating an employee, are willing to pay severance in exchange for a full and complete release of claims. We are able to assist employers in drafting separation/severance agreements and counsel throughout the termination process. Similarly, these same employers call upon our team to draft form confidentiality, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements to be signed by employees whose post-employment activities should be restricted. Given the constant change in the rules of enforcement, our labor & employment attorneys need to keep up-to-date on the current state of the law.

Employers in the Boca Raton area, no matter the size, are also finding that employee handbooks are required to educate staff on workplace rules, conduct, dress and the like. We are able to tailor our handbooks to meet each employer's specific needs as one size does not fit all businesses.

Of course, many of our local clients like to use our services as needed for guidance and advice in day-to-day human resources issues, such as terminating and disciplining employees, structuring paid and unpaid leave, accommodating disabled employees, etc.
